Is this a knitting blog?

It's hard to find anything that strictly knitting these days. I have been doing a bit here and there but there's not much to write about. I have a shawl that I hope to finish today. I'm taking it with me to work along with my camera, just in case, so maybe tomorrow there'll be something to look at.

Of course it's summer and the most frequent greeting I get is "It's so hot!" Well, it is that. And humid. But there's still 82 days of summer to get through. We'll make it. We always do. But we have to mention it just in case no one has noticed. I went to dinner in Culver City last night. It's easily 15 or 20 degrees cooler over there. It was so pleasant to sit outside on Robert's patio and sip sangria. Followed by a dinner of grilled pork tenderloin. And freshly made pecan pie.

So, happy July! I'm not planning anything for the Fourth except staying home and keeping an eye on my cat. He's already pretty freaked out by the early fireworks that have been going off around here.

I think my cats have gotten used to the fireworks around here--TC allows the safe & sane kind, and there are all kinds of fireworks stands too. With two boys next door, and 3 two doors up, the street will be very bright on the 4th. But ever since a neighbor lost her house to an errant bottle rocket, I'm nervous. More nervous than the cats, even!

Happy 4th of July! It seems to me every year people take holidays to fire away with their stuff! It starts a few days early and ends a few days past the holiday. I would not mind so much, but Sam's freaking out on me. He's no place to hide, since both our neighbors participated this year. I complain about the heat a lot, but always with a smile on my face, since we all complain wether it's hot or cold. IT's quite funny actually! Stay cool! Mmh, it's been over a decade since I had Sangria. I liked it with lots and lots of oranges, and orange juice. I don't like alcohol, and don't drink it, but this was something even I liked to drink.

I saw on a post from a number of years ago that you have shopped before at Bishop's Yarns in Chatsworth - she's shutting her store down - everything there is 50% off (in case you want to take advantage) including books and needles...

just thought you'd like to know :)

Nothing going on for the 4th here either. Deb and her Mom both have to work. No biggie. I'll do some knitting. ;)

Happy 4th to you!

Oh my. I, too, had grilled pork tenderloin for dinner last night - in the suddenly cooler evening. And we aren't doing anything for the 4th either. BD can't swim or boat and I don't feel like cooking. Probably just feast on watermelon.

Happy July to you, dear heart.
