Here we go again, again.

After much mulling, hemming and hawing I've decided to start the MS3 again, using an entirely different yarn. Maybe it's practice or maybe it's the yarn, but I'm moving along fairly quickly on this permutation.

I couldn't find the two cones of laceweight so I'm using some Rowan Sea Breeze. This yarn has been long discontinued. I've probably had this in stash for ten or twelve years. It's a 4-ply (sport weight) that is giving me a lot more rustic look than the laceweight did. But I like it. Part of what I think of as my country cottage look.

It's hard for me to accept that I can't work with laceweight. Sort of like admitting you're too old. Maybe new glasses would help. It's time for that anyway. So we'll see. No pun intended.

Well, it looks stunning. I think it was a good change. And as for not being able to work with lace-weight, I think we are able, we just didn't enjoy it.

Too fiddly, I don't like to stare at my knitting and pattern like that.

I *love* that we can see the pattern well in the sportweight! You're off to a great start and fingers crossed it keeps going that way.

I like it better than black anyway! Have fun!

The new color is gorgeous! I think it looks great. I don't know if everyone was supposed to knit with black/dark colors or not, but so far all of MS3 blogs I've come across are using black/dark colors. Nice to see a bright and cheery one!

I'm not sure if laceweight and I would get along or not. That's why I figured trying Monika's shawl with the heavier Noro Sakura would be best to start with. (Got the same color she used -- I love hers!) I may try a delicate shawl this winter. I have no idea what I'd do with it. I don't have any immediate family or friends that would wear it, and I can't see myself wearing it. Still, I'd like to give it a try.
