What's new?

Tomorrow is World Wide Knit in Public Day. Who knew? I don't know how I missed hearing about this but there it is. I don't think I'll be joining in as I'm already pretty booked for tomorrow. Cats to brush; floors to clean; naps to take. But I never know for sure. I could be tempted if I knew of a place to join in.

I got my weekly Knit Bits newsletter from Berocco this morning. It's the first one in a while where I found much of interest. Their new falls books are highlighted. Some pretty exciting things including a new book devoted entirely to Norah Gaughan. I've always liked her work. Not that I've ever actually knit one of her designs. Mostly I like them for their interesting construction and stitch patterns. But I'll get that book plus several others from the collection. Just in case I finish all the other things I want to do.

I'm going to miss out on WWKIP Day too, family affair going on, but if I was free I'd probably just go to my local Starbucks and haul out my scarf while I sip a latte. In fact, if the family thing breaks up early enough, I might do it anyway! Then I'd be working on WWKIP Night...

I used to get this newsletter too, don't know why not anymore?! I've never knit anything from their free pattern section. I bought a pattern booklet once with one of Norah's designs (a blanket) ;o). I love her work. Haven't done much, just the cardigan in the book and the sunflower tam. I like her for the same reasons you said. I'm not knitting in public today, wont go anywhere today, so maybe I'll just knit outside and the neighbors can watch me. ;o)

I am hoping that one or two people will show up at our store to knit with me. It started off pretty busy today, but unfortunately it has quieted down. Too much. (But the sun came out!) If no one shows, I'll knit alone, and I'll take the cookies I got home for the kids.

i had completely forgotten about it, but KIP anyway, lol! saturday afternoons my sons and i take off, and let hubbie have the afternoon to himself. (i get thursday nights). we went to the park after we had lunch, and while the boys played on the swings, i sat under a tree and worked on my dulaan scarf. after that, we went to the library, and while the boys were looking for books, i worked on it there, as well. i actually got to explain dulaan to one of the librarians i chat with regularly.

i didn't even remember until after i'd gotten home, and was contemplating supper!
